Palo Alto CARET Laboratory and Alien-Sourced Technology

June 28, 2007. Some images of an unusual flying object, seen and photographed by witnesses in widely-separated locations, have recently appeared on various Internet sites. This week, a person who chooses to be known by the pseudonym "Isaac", set up a web page in which he shows images of what could plausibly be parts of the flying object -- images that he says he pilfered over a period of time while employed by an organization known as the Palo Alto CARET Laboratory (PACL), "CARET" being a contraction for "Commercial Applications Research for Extraterrestrial Technology". Both names are suspiciously crude or even corny. We won't go into that, but just continue for the moment, pointing out that Isaac claims that this apparently non-governmental identity was a cover for an extraordinarily secret "DOD" program whose purpose actually was what was implied by its name -- which we suppose was never to be revealed. Before concluding that all this could not possibly be authentic, we suggest you examine the images contained in the various links at the right. They, at least, are persuasive. Now the purpose of this article is not to determine whether either the object or Isaac's illustrated story is authentic. Others are going to search for traces of Photoshop or other manipulations and we will be hearing the results. My purpose is different: to use this as a point with which to alter the very landscape in which these things are evaluated. A striking feature of almost all of the photos is the presence of an "alien-looking" yet strangely familiar script written on virtually every artifact. Some will recall seeing a similar script on the so-called "I-beam" in the Roswell crash reports. For some reason, Isaac and his co-workers and their managers concluded that this was not actually a "language" -- with a meaning to be deciphered -- but rather a functional aspect of the technology, because microscopic examination of the artifacts' materials revealed nothing but a uniform structure down to a very deep level. The script, then, being the only thing that was different, must have been what made it all "work". I would say that this conclusion was premature, and that the script's similarity to those of a number of Earth's ancient languages was not a thing to be ignored. Not only was it not to be ignored, it was a perfectly reasonable thing, if not actually expected. Here we run into an attitude problem that our entire culture has, and the "SETI community" has it the worst. On June 27 I performed an admittedly cursory search with Google and found no results from a combination of "SETI Institute" and terms relating to this story. In other words, this is a non-event to SETI; it has not been considered or even noticed. Why is this? It is because our official worldview, one promoted by all of our scientific institutions and in all of our educational institutions except for a few privately-funded maverick ones, is blind to, and diametrically opposed to recognition of, evidence of our true situation, that confronts us at every turn. In terms of the official worldview, there is absolutely no reason for an ancient script or anything close to that to appear on an object that displays aspects of technology that are completely beyond our comprehension. Our ancient societies were technologically primitive. Humans developed here in isolation and through processes of evolution, regardless of how greatly discredited every model of evolution has become (itself a thing unrecognized in the official worldview). They had to be in isolation because travel across the galaxy or farther is impossible. Because of all of that, not only is there no reason to connect exotic technology with ancient societies, there is no reason to accredit the technology itself. It cannot be, so any observations are hoaxes or dreams. Now, those societies left records testifying to the powers and technology (weapons, crafts, seeds and the techniques of agriculture, languages...) of what we say that they called "gods". We smile at their superstition. We know that there were no gods. We are allowed or encouraged to believe in "God" but that is no mere superstition. That is authorized. All of this is part of what we call the "SETI model" on these pages. But here we have, in opposition to that view, the "Open SETI model", though of course it is much more than that. In this model, based on what we observe around us, our planet did not develop in isolation and probably no planet does, because territory in the galaxy is as highly prized as places on this planet are among our societies. Colonization and territorial expansion, though they may not be universal, have dominated our experience: it is what we were born to, what we were made for, and what we are made of. One of the greatest tools of colonization is genetics and that is what is responsible for our "evolution". This means that societies have been under either the direct control of the colonizers or, in modern times, indirect control. Knowledge of this comprises the true "family jewels" of the intelligence services and the inner governments of the world. Would you like to learn more about this? We recommend a set of pages on our sister website, under the heading THE CHRONICLES OF THE GIRKU / Notes. And... oh yes, since we were speaking of languages, you will see from THE CHRONICLES / Notes that ancient languages are indeed worthy of our study: they are the key to understanding.
It is true that at least one Katakana syllable appears prominently throughout these script examples. However, most of the "characters" on the artifact pieces do not seem to be examples of Katakana. While perhaps a bit troubling, I don't think the resemblance damages the points I made in this article which, as stated, do not depend on the outcome of this particular "case". And after all, I welcomed the possibility that we were looking at something related to an "Earth" language. But you, the reader, can decide for yourself about that.
The writer believes, in other words, that the presence of strange language implies the potential of great rewards from entities with godlike powers. I suggest that this enthusiasm is unfounded and dangerous. It is an attempt to introduce a new religious power structure, with the writer as guide, if not actually priest, and to bring about a society or a group within our society that is dedicated to the worship of it knows not what. Not that meditating on a thing, almost any thing, might not be a way to learn about its ultimate true nature... if the practice is undertaken with no preconceptions and no agenda. If done in this way, meditation could actually be empowering, as it adds a new and very personal vehicle for obtaining knowledge. If done as the writer is suggesting, it is disempowering as it places the seeker into a position of subservience to the unknown, in the quest for power, ironically. Incidentally, the point about the connection between the "Isaac" script and crop circles is worth noting. Whatever crop circles are, manmade or otherwise, there has been an observed propensity in them to reflect society's presently hot icons. If the characters in the "Isaac" script have not yet appeared in crop circles, one can almost guarantee that they will do so.
Does being engendered on this planet make the cut between Terrestrial and Extraterrestrial? We will learn that some of the invading group -- because that is what they (the "gods") are -- were not "born" or cloned until after their arrival here. The "goddess" Isis was one of these. Isis was not human. Was she an extraterrestrial? Just asking, and while we're at it, I wonder if "SETI" has thought about the meaning of "intelligence". As Ingo Swann points out, our definition of "intelligence" has progressively shifted from a useful one to a mere list of acquired skills. SETI's definition, of course, is that intelligence is that certain skill that gives the ability to create monochromatic radio signals (assuming that there is also reason and intention to do it). Just thought this would be a good place to point that out.
But a close examination of the provided image reveals that the "7" is actually one of the Katakana characters discussed earlier. There is also mention of a demonstration of a magnetic coil floating on the cushion of its own magnetic field -- an experiment that any child can do, which will also either blow a fuse or circuit breaker or set fire to the house.
These links also provide brief but revealing information on cooperation between ET races and the U.S. government and corporations. For those puzzled by the mention of various races -- I realize many of the names are unfamiliar -- a capsule summary is provided at http://www.zeitlin.net/EndEnchantment/Secret1.html#Races.
There is one aspect of these images that seems very striking: in every image that I have seen, the strange birdcage array at the top of the "drone" appears to just fade out of existence at its top. One observer noticed this in an early photograph, ascribing it to an atmospheric effect. This seems extremely unlikely, and moreover the feature, as mentioned, is persistent. It suggests that if the entire series is not in fact a hoax, then we need to be thinking about what we know and do not know concerning "dimensions" and kinds of technology that would make use of them.
